Discontinuing Sterling plated beads

Please note that Miyuki is not able to source silver to make sterling plated seed beads at this time. They are filling existing orders only, and we can't place to orders to be fulfilled. Color numbers 961, 961F, DB551, and DB551F are no longer in production at this time.

May 2nd:

Round seed bead prices increasing.

Many of you already know that Miyuki has slowly been raising their prices over the last few years. Although favorable exchange rates have helped us to absorb those increases, the time has come for us to raise prices to stay current with the cost of beads, shipping and labor.

Like you, we wish these prices could remain stable forever, but the raw materials costs are driving many of these changes. In particular, all items which contain gold (not just plated but in the color of the glass) have a surcharge that has hovered around 80% for the last year. As part of the increase, we will raise the prices on items which contain gold, and hope that part of that increase may be reversed in the future.

An addendum to what we have said before, is that tariff uncertainty is not included in this increase but we will try to roll those costs into the current changes. We do not want to raise prices and then have to do all that work again, and we don't want you to have to pay even more. All of this depends on what the tariff rate is on Japanese imports, which is outside of our control. Just know that as soon as we know anything, we'll let you know too.

March 7th, 2025:

We have already raised the 11/0 Delica Bead prices, 15/0 Delicas (DBS), 10/0 Delicas (DBM) and 8/0 Delicas (DBL). We will soon be raising prices on round seed beads as well. We encourage you to place any important orders before the changes are implemented.

February 11th, 2025:

Temporary Gold Surcharge

Over the last year and a bit, Miyuki has charged a surcharge on beads which contain gold. This means not just gold-plated beads, but any bead which has gold in the bead-making process. Gold is extra expensive right now, and the additional fee is to cover the materials cost for making those beads. The surcharge is currently hovering about 85% and has been in that vicinity for about a year.

Until now we have dragged our feet on re-ordering these items because the cost is almost doubled, but we've decided to simply re-price them because the cost doesn't seem to be going down. If it does go down, we'll redo our prices on these beads and you'll be the first to know!

Here is the long list of items that are affected:

Delica Beads (all sizes)
DB12, DB22, DB22L, DB23, DB24, DB25, DB27, DB31, DB31L, DB33, DB34, DB103, DB105, DB115, DB116, DB230, DB312, DB322, DB324, DB331, DB334, DB371, DB373, DB376, DB378, DB380, DB501, DB505, DB506, DB507, DB508, DB1051, DB2521, DB2522, DB2523, DB2524 and DB2525

Upcoming Miyuki Delica Price Increase

Many of you already know that Miyuki has slowly been raising their prices over the last few years. Although favorable exchange rates have helped us to absorb those increases, the time has come for us to raise prices to stay current with the cost of beads, shipping and labor.

Like you, we wish these prices could remain stable forever, but the raw materials costs are driving many of these changes. As part of the increase, we will raise the prices on items which contain gold, and hope that part of that increase may be reversed in the future.

We will begin by raising prices on 11/0 Delica Beads in the middle of February, and announce the other price increases by category as we proceed. We encourage you to place any important orders before the changes are implemented.
