Yellow jade is a lemon-colored stone that is formed in high heat environments like volcanoes. The distinctive yellow color is created by deposits in the stone, and can range from a pale butter color to a vivid lemon color. Consistent colorations are often created by dyes. The word 'jade' comes from a Spanish phrase, 'piedra de ijada', which means 'loin stone', as the Spanish explorers believed jade to have healing properties. These smooth round beads are 8mm in size.
