Fluorite is a mineral formed in hydrothermal deposits around the world. The mineral itself is clear, but various impurities give it a wide range of colors. Indeed, fluorite is often referred to as 'the most colorful mineral in the world'. Most of the beads used in jewelry-making are rich purple or verdant green in color. These irregularly shaped beads have a rough, unpolished finish and are 10-20mm in size. They are mostly green, ranging in hue from pale green to spring green, with some purple beads included.
Semi-precious stone beads are mined all over the world and then are usually cut in China. They will often be dyed or color-treated to enhance their appearance. We select the best quality semi-precious that is available, and try to avoid finishes that are not durable. It is best to assume that some semi-precious beads will fade over time.
