Agate is a common stone primarily made up of Chalcedony and Quartz in a wide variety of colors. Often formed in volcanic rock, Agates have been used in jewelry for thousands of years. These flattened rectangular beads are slightly convex and measure 8x12mm. They are a variety of shades of yellow, ranging from a pale pastel hue through golden yellow, and shades of tan.
Semi-precious stone beads are mined all over the world and then are usually cut in China. They will often be dyed or color-treated to enhance their appearance. We select the best quality semi-precious that is available, and try to avoid finishes that are not durable. It is best to assume that some semi-precious beads will fade over time.
