Silk Satin beads are made with special glass that contains thousands of tiny bubbles giving them a beautiful glittering surface. Because they contain micro bubbles, they are extremely lightweight and slightly wider than normal. They also have sharper edges than most Japanese seed beads so they require a durable stringing material.

The 11/0 Delica (DB) is the most popular of the four sizes of Delica bead, and is available in hundreds of colors and finishes. Delicas are precisely cut glass cylinder beads with a rounded surface and two flat ends. The diameter of the hole is large in proportion to the bead size, enabling multiple passes with a needle and thread in stitching projects. In bead weaving, rows and columns of Delicas uniformly line up to create a flat surface that highlights pattern work.
