The Golden Fleece is the story that inspired my entry. I read it as a child and parts of it have stayed in my thoughts to this day. Here is the story: There was a king and a queen who had 2 children. The king grew tired of his wife and took another. The old queen was afraid for her children and one of the greek gods helped by giving her a magical ram with a golden fleece that was to take the children to safety. The ram was sacrificed and the Golden Fleece was given into the care of a sleepless dragon. Jason (of the Argonauts) went on a quest to find the Golden Fleece. He had to put the dragon to sleep with the help of a magic potion, before he could take the fleece.
