The Green Man is a recurring theme in English folklore. He has been depicted over many centuries in stonework on cathedrals and buildings as a face with leaves growing out of it or as a mask of leaves. When Oak leaves are shown, he is also know as Okean. The Green Man is a figure in early British religions.
