Myths & Folk Tales: Selections from the 2nd International Miyuki Delica Challenge
Welcome to the web portion of our new book.
Below you will find a text-only index to all the pages relating to the 2nd Delica Challege portion of this site. There is also an index with pictures (long download for regular modem users).
Each of the names below links to a page with a small photo of the artist's entry. To the extent that the artists have provided it, you will also find personal information about each artist, technical information about their entry, and the story of their myth or folktale. Some artists have not yet responded to requests for additional information and others have declined to add to what they originally submitted.
You will see as you visit these pages that the kinds and amounts of information provided range from minimal to overwhelming. We've tried to limit editing to correcting spelling and simplifying text that we found confusing. Otherwise, what you will read is what we were sent. As additional submissions arrive and are added, I will put a note by the artist's name on the list indicating that the artist's information has been updated. Hopefully within the next month or so, all the artists in the book, including those in Japan, will have had a chance to see the book and to update their information here.
For those who wish to further explore the huge topics of folklore, mythology, etc., here are some links to internet indices. Any library or large bookstore will also have extensive resources on folklore.

Additional information that may be of interest includes:
A list, sorted by state, of everyone who entered the 2nd Challenge.
Reflections about judging the 2nd Challenge (I will write this eventually, promise.)
Advice about entering contests: Entering Contests 101 by Amy Clarke (originally printed in the Fall 1999 issue of Beadwork Magazine and reproduced here with their kind permission).
Note that some artists have provided their email addresses in case you have questions or wish to contact them. I have added the word "no.spam" to each of these addresses to deter web robots which troll for emails to add to their spam lists, so please delete that before you use the address.
Artists: Please contact me if you wish to update or change anything about your listing. Also feel free to notify me of typos, misspellings, etc.
Disclaimer: Caravan Beads and its staff do not vouch for the accuracy of the artists' statements in this section of the website. We will be happy to correct any glaring provable errors if brought to our attention but beyond that this information is offered as is.
The names immediately below appear in the same order as the photos in Myths and Folk Tales: Selections from the 2nd International Miyuki Delica Challenge. This is followed by a listing of the prize winners and finalists for visitors who would like to visit those pages first.
